
Meet the CanCham 2025-2027 Board of Directors


The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is proud to announce the election results for the 2025-2027 Board of Directors. The vote took place at the CanCham AGM 2025 on March 25 and was certified by the Vice-Chair Ex-Officio and election committee volunteers comprised of CanCham Advisory Council members.
Our community and members are grateful to all nominees for putting their name forward in the election. We look forward to working with everyone in various capacities over the coming years in order to further strengthen our chamber!
The new CanCham Board will meet in April to internally select the next CanCham Chair and Vice-Chair, as well as set their agenda for the upcoming term.

Daniel Cheng

Bio:
Daniel Cheng is a Managing Partner in Brookfield’s Renewable Power & Transition Group. In this role, he is responsible for building and managing the renewable power business across Asia Pacific, as well as the Head of China for the group. Previously, Mr. Cheng was involved in Brookfield’s renewable power investment activities, primarily in North America. Mr. Cheng holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo. Mr. Cheng is a board member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

Eric Charles Rupert

Bio:
Eric is the founder and CEO of altPlus, a Canadian company advancing the use of renewable bamboo materials. With 13 years of experience in China, he leads the development of the entire bamboo ecosystem, from farming to advanced products. Eric is also a council member at the Shanghai Research and Building Institute for wood and bamboo buildings and a frequent presenter on Belt & Road trade opportunities. He represents Canadian business in both public and private sectors, focusing on sustainable technologies and global trade. Originally from a small town in Ontario, Eric offers a unique perspective on international business relations.

Eunice Wang

Bio:
Eunice Wang is currently the Head of the East China Region of the Private Banking Services of the Bank of Montreal Shanghai Branch. Prior to this, she has over 30 year of international business, wealth management and multicultural banking experience in Shanghai and Vancouver. Her skills mainly lie in marketing expansion, sales, and management.
As a Canadian immigrant, Eunice has experienced many challenges when starting a new life in Canada. Therefore, she is enthusiastic about helping new visitors to Canada, especially with various communication issues that arise in the new cultural environment.
Eunice also served as a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce from 2011-2013, and 2017-2018, 2022-2024 as a representative of BMO Shanghai.

Jenny Fan

Bio:
Ms. Jenny Fan joined Manulife-Sinochem in June 2016. Jenny is responsible for branding & digital marketing, corporate communication, customer experience, CSR, and Government & Corporate Affairs. In 2025, Jenny expanded her role to oversee brand, content and sponsorship in Asia. During these years. Jenny dedicated to enhance MSL brand awareness and uplifting customer experience and supporting business development in many aspects including Manulife-Sinochem MOVE launch, Hongyun legacy launch & 5 year anniversary celebration event, wealth management forum and developed many firsts in MSL, including integrating MOVE with Apple and partnering with NBA. Jenny also partnered with Fudan Development Institute to better understand women’s risk appetites and health & wealth habits. Jenny is the chairperson of Manulife Global Women’s Alliance in China and awarded 2018 Global Star of Manulife. Before MSL she worked at Citibank China in 2007 as Director of Quality & Customer Experience and before that she worked with the Visa Information Service Center for the U.S Embassy and Consulates in China for many years. Jenny holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Victoria Canada.

Lin Zhang

Lin Zhang joined Teck Resources Limited in January 2010 and served as Deputy Chief Representative at its Beijing office. In early 2013 Lin set up Teck’s Shanghai office and was appointed Head of Shanghai branch. From mid-2023, Lin was assigned to supervise the operation of Teck Beijing office as well. He is the Director, Marketing, China and responsible for marketing all Teck’s products in the China market. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Shanghai University of Technology, and a Postgraduate degree in Management Science and Engineering from Shanghai University.

Mark Ceolin

Born in Windsor, Ontario, Mark Ceolin has worked in China since 2003. Receiving a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto, Mark was a professor in Toronto before coming to Shanghai where he founded his PR/Marketing/Events company, Red Gate International, in 2005. Red Gate operates through its offices in Toronto, Shanghai and Singapore with clients including government, consumer, manufacturing, education and designer brands. Mark is the founding Chairman of CanCham Shanghai and has remained a member of the board and Advisory Council contributing to the Canadian business community since its inception. Mark has received a Governor General’s medal for his contributions to trade and cultural ties between Canada and China.

I am a Canadian lawyer and have specialized in providing legal services for Canadian clients in China for 14 years. I obtained my law degree at Western University in Ontario. Prior to establishing my own firm, Moxiu Law, which focuses on providing a full range of services for Canadian businesses in China, I worked for Olympic arbitrator Richard McLaren, Blakes, Cassels & Graydon in Calgary, InterAsia Law Firm in Hong Kong and Zhong Lun Law Firm in Shanghai.

Simon came to Shanghai in 1998 on a Canada-China scholarship to study the Chinese language at Fudan University followed by a second year of studying at the Nanjing-Hopkins University Center. Coming back to Shanghai, Simon worked on short term contracts for diverse organizations from marketing events, consultancy and for the Canadian Consulate. Subsequently, he joined the Canadian Business Forum as the Manager for 3 years. While managing the business association, he completed an Executive MBA. He then moved to the manufacturing sector, first in sourcing and now as the General Manager of a Canadian owned manufacturing company in Shanghai.
