CanCham Announcement: Change in Chair of the Board of Directors

September 1, 2025 / CanCham

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai hereby announces that our esteemed long-term board member and Chair of the Board of Directors, Ms. Jenny Fan, will be departing from Manulife and Manulife-SinoChem to pursue a new career opportunity. Consequently, she has stepped down as Chair of the Board of CanCham Shanghai, effective August 31, 2025.

Jenny has been a dedicated member of the CanCham Board for the terms of 2021-2023, 2023-2025, and 2025-2027, and has served two recent terms as CanCham Chair. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Canadian-Chinese business community in Shanghai. Under her guidance, CanCham has achieved several milestones, including a unified Team Canada presence at the China International Import Expo (CIIE), the launch of the inaugural Chinese Business Impact Awards, and the organization of more influential marquee events. Her efforts have also led to the development of new membership tiers, making the CanCham network more diverse and cohesive.

The Board of Directors expresses heartfelt gratitude to Jenny for her invaluable contributions and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.

Message from Jenny Fan, Outgoing CanCham Chair

Leading CanCham has been one of the highlights of my professional journey. I am deeply appreciative of the trust and support extended to me by the Board of Directors, the Advisory Council, our Partners, the CanCham team, and the broader community. Collaborating with such dedicated and passionate individuals has been an honor, and I will cherish the relationships and memories we’ve shared.

Leadership will pass to Mark Ceolin as Chair and Willy Wang as Vice-Chair—two proven stewards whose vision and energy will carry CanCham to new heights, Sherry Chui will be interim Executive Director, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. I am confident that this team will advance the Chamber’s objectives effectively.

I remain a committed supporter of CanCham and look forward to the continued growth of the Canadian-Chinese business community in Shanghai.
