Canada’s New Government: Analysis & Discussion Presented by CPKC

May 23, 2025 / CanCham

At the end of April, Canada held its federal election, resulting in a minority government led by the Liberal Party under the leadership of Mark Carney. This will bring significant changes and potential shifts in policy directions, which could have profound implications for Canada’s international relations.

In light of these developments, the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai is organizing a discussion on June 5th to explore the potential impacts of Canada’s new government on the bilateral relationship between China and Canada.

This discussion features speakers with extensive backgrounds in economics, financial policy, business, and marketing, will offer valuable insights into the economic outlook, business trends, and broader economic challenges, with a particular focus on the new Canadian government’s next steps and their impact on the bilateral relationship between China and Canada.
