The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai would like to thank everyone who came out to CanCham Canada Day 2024, at the South Bund, Shanghai, Saturday June 29th!
We are so proud to see the overwhelming enthusiasm this year, GO Team Canada! We welcome all the new faces and old friends joining our event, together celebrating the festive Canada Day.
The festivities kicked off with the opening words from CanCham Executive Director Matt Whately, CanCham Vice Chair, Willy Wang and Honorary President of CanCham, Consul General of Canada in Shanghai, Dave Murphy. They highlighted the strong ties between Canada and Shanghai and the importance of the Canadian business community in the city.
Additionally, the cake-cutting ceremony and the whiskey toast at the event brought an even more lively atmosphere to the special occasion.

The stage was set for 7 hours of non-stop activities, including a watermelon eating contest, shirt painting game, Canadian Quiz contest, and many more.
We also had numerous shows throughout the day and night, including a yoga lesson led by Lululemon ambassador Jordan, which brought loads of fun for kids and adults alike. The event was made even more memorable with performances from the Red Stars, Frank Bray, and DJ Shanghai Pauly, as well as diverse ensembles from the Shanghai French School, M Chamber Music, and Istage Music Academy, featuring young and talented musicians.
For families and kids, we included various activities such as the curling game, the fishing game, Arts and Crafts, board games, and many additional fun activities from all the booths! We also hope you all had fun at the cotton candy machine where they could ride a bike for their cotton candies!
Let’s not forget the great food options we had at the event, from beloved poutine, smoked BBQ, ice wine, cocktails, and many more!
