PU Letters Are Now Available to Foreign Family Dependents
Effective immediately, Chinese authorities in Shanghai have begun to issue the PU letters to foreign family dependents (spouse and children under the age of 18) in a gradual and consistent manner. Family dependents (spouse and children) can join the PU letter application with the principal applicant or lodge their own independent application (while the principal applicant is currently working/living in China). Vaccination certificates with vaccines approved by WHO and the evidence/statement in support of the applicant’s travel and residence history in the past 28 days are required. The above policy/practice will roll out in other cities throughout China gradually. However, the approval is at the discretion of the local officials.
