CanCham Shanghai White Paper Series 2026 – Launching at the AGM
At this year’s CanCham Shanghai Annual General Meeting on March 31, members will witness an important new milestone for the Chamber: the official launch of our inaugural White Paper Series.
Developed through CanCham Shanghai’s Chairman’s Roundtable Series, these White Papers reflect the Chamber’s growing role as a platform for high-level dialogue, practical insight, and meaningful Canada-China business engagement. The Chairman’s Roundtables bring together senior business leaders, experts, and key stakeholders for focused discussions on major sectors shaping bilateral commercial relations. This White Paper Series transforms those discussions into substantive publications designed to capture key insights, highlight emerging issues, and support informed engagement across our business community.
The first three White Papers in the series are:
Automotive Parts Manufacturing : An exploration of the changing landscape of automotive manufacturing, supply chains, competitiveness, and advanced industry dynamics, with attention to the position of Canadian companies amid shifting industry structures, rising cost pressures, technological change, and intensifying competition in China and internationally.
Natural Resources : A discussion of Canada’s strengths in resources, energy, and materials, and the role these sectors can play in supporting long-term cooperation, industrial development, and future-oriented Canada-China economic ties.
Agriculture and Agri-Food : An examination of one of Canada’s most important sectors, with a focus on trade, market access, sector evolution, and the opportunities and challenges facing Canadian agri-food businesses in China and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
The AGM will mark the first official presentation and release of these publications, giving members an early view of an important new CanCham Shanghai publishing initiative and a tangible example of the Chamber’s recent progress and growing output.
As part of this launch, all CanCham Shanghai members will be eligible to request a complimentary digital copy of the White Papers. Digital access will also be available for purchase by non-members. In addition, printed copies will be distributed to VIP guests at the AGM, while a limited number of hard copies will also be made available for purchase.
We look forward to welcoming members to the AGM for this special launch and to sharing the first results of what we hope will become a strong and lasting White Paper series for the Chamber.
