Strengthening Canada-China Trade Ties in the Yangtze River Delta: CanCham Shanghai Jiangsu Chapter Establishment

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (CanCham Shanghai), is pleased to announce the establishment of its Jiangsu Chapter, marking a strategic expansion to deepen engagement in one of China’s most dynamic economic regions. 

This expansion builds on CanCham Shanghai’s legacy of fostering Canada-China trade relations. Since its founding in 2008, the chamber has supported members ranging from multinational corporations to dynamic SMEs , and the Jiangsu Chapter will extend this mission to serve businesses operating in or entering eastern China’s manufacturing and tech heartland. 

Leadership Appointment: President of CanCham Shanghai Jiangsu ChapterThe board of CanCham Shanghai is honored to appoint Dominic Desmarais, long-term Corporate Member of CanCham Shanghai, as President of CanCham Shanghai Jiangsu Chapter, based in Suzhou.

Dominic Desmarais, President of CanCham Shanghai Jiangsu Chapter

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Dominic is now living in Suzhou for more than 10 years. In his role, Dominic will oversee the chapter’s strategic direction, including member engagement, the development of sector-specific programs tailored to CanCham Shanghai Jiangsu Chapter’s priorities and host business mixers, industry roundtables focused in expansions in Canada-China cooperation.
