DDI’s Shanghai Town & Country Club Holds “Downton Abbey Christmas Special” Event

Shanghai Town & Country Club (STCC) invited distinguished guests to a once in a life time Christmas party that has even Santa Claus jealous of the exclusive and extravagant experience on 7th December. Guests were invited to enjoy a Christmas dinner in the style of the 19th Century English upper-class and to sample some of the experiences that STCC has to offer its members. At the event, the guest families enjoyed Club activities that were tailor-made for ladies, gentlemen and children, while also enjoying the special Christmas dinner designed by Executive Chef of STCC, Mr. Alexandra Molina.

The culture of this upper-class social club originates from 18th Century England. To provide the guests with an authentic club experience, STCCa��s private Christmas dinner was held at No.1 Waitanyuan which was the former British Consulate-General in Shanghai. The theme of the event was an English upper class dinner party set in 1837. From the fine whisky tasting in the gentlemena��s zone, the making of delicate Christmas desserts in the ladiesa�� zone to the chocolate parties and Santaa��s Grotto in the childrena��s zone, every single member of the guest families were able to enjoy activities that were arranged with meticulous detail by STCC. On top of the fabulous wining and dining experience, STCC also prepared a Christmas light show and invited the guests to join together with their family to make their wishes for 2014.

STCC attaches great importance to food as the most important aspect of family parties. The Club has the highest standards for all of its catering and cuisine. STCC French Executive Chef, Alexandra Molina, with a career spanning over 25 years, including working with several Michelin-starred chefs, has designed a creative cuisine that combines a hearty Mediterranean diversity with a tinge of his Southern French heritage. The result offers dishes that are distinctive and yet light, avoiding the heaviness that marks many European cuisines.

This crisp and exquisite experience perfectly presented the essence of STCC “Deliciously Light” concept – developed exclusively by Thalassa Sea & Spa, the renowned nutrition and wellness experts, in France 40 years ago. This concept reflects the unique skills of our Chefs in creating an innovative array of well-balanced, low-calorie meals to help Club members meet their health goals in delicious style.

At the event, the founding members – Ms. Carrie Fang, Founder of ESEE Model Management and Ms. Debby Cheung, President, Ogilvy & Mather Group, Shanghai and their families also attend to the event, and enjoy activities that were arranged with meticulous detail by STCC, and expanded their networks by meeting other families at the event!
