CN Grows Footprint in Vietnam

As Vietnam is quickly establishing itself as a growing manufacturing force in Southeast Asia, CN is expanding its commercial presence in that nation. CN Business Development Manager Doan Phuoc Lang (Daniel), and Do Tran Duy (Andy), Managing Director of Vietnam Shipping Corporation, have in-depth knowledge of these growing import and export markets and will provide customers expert advice on transportation and logistics matters. They are located in Ho Chi Minh City.

Vietnam’s growing competitiveness in the manufacturing and export of furniture, textile, footwear, rice and coffee industries, as well as its import of consumer goods and lumber, offer exciting opportunities for CN customers.

Jean-Jacques Ruest, CN Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer, said: “We are always looking for innovative ways to help our customers, and to be a major partner for them in these expanding markets. By establishing a presence in Ho Chi Minh City, we are seizing that opportunity.”

With the new port infrastructure at Vietnam’s Cai Mep International Terminal, Vietnam offers many options for importers and exporters via the Suez Canal route. In addition, CN’s ample network capacity and competitive transit times to and from the Eastern Gateway ports of Montreal and Halifax provide freight customers a highly effective service to route Suez Canal traffic to key markets in Canada and the U.S. Midwest.
