China Maple Leaf Enrolling Investors

Dalian-based China Maple Leaf Educational Systems Limited may become the first international school operator to list in Hong Kong. Founded by Canadian Chinese textile businessman Sherman Jen Shuliang in 1996 with the first school in Dalian, the group now educates 12,906 students, in 37 schools run under the Maple Leaf brand.


They include seven high schools, seven middle schools, six elementary schools, 11 preschools and two foreign national schools in eight cities in China.

The schools provide bilingual, dual- curriculum and dual-diploma high- school education that enables graduates to receive an accredited British Columbia high school diploma and a mainland high school diploma.

As of February 28, the firm employed 1,270 teachers, including 300 BC- certified teachers and 910 China- certified teachers.

The group provides other educational services, including overseas summer and winter camps, consulting for overseas university admission and the sale and lease of textbooks and other educational materials to its students.
