Events Coordinator
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute Chamber related events
- Coordinate events on-site in real time
- Initiate and organize social and business events with goal of servicing CanCham Members and the wider community
- Develop potential new events and identify ways of enhancing events
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships, working closely with CanCham staff and 3rd party teams
- Coordinate and liaise with suppliers, venues, talents, sponsors and partners
- Create first draft communication materials including proposals, presentations, and announcements
- Recruit and manage interns and volunteers
- Work with Executive Director to create event calendar and meet yearly budget objectives
- Work with CanCham Team to identify event sponsorship opportunities
Qualifications:
Education and experience:
- University education is preferred
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience is preferred
- Experience in event planning and execution
Required skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Excellent language skills in English and Mandarin preferred, both written and oral
- Organizational skills, problem solving skills and flexibility
- Good word processing and computer skills
- Basic graphic skills a plus
- Ability to prioritize own workload and take initiative
- Ability to work and contribute as a valuable team member
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information or information of a sensitive nature
