Canadians Celebrate Canada Day in Shanghai

Shanghai, July 2, 2013 – The Canada Day in Shanghai party on June 30, 2013 organized by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (CanCham Shanghai) attracted close to a thousand Canadians and friends over the course of a day to mark the 146th anniversary of Canada at the Bund Beach.

The fun-filled day included live music, races and challenges, a sandcastle building contest, a scavenger hunt, the Fields China Watermelon Eating Contest, the Bombardier Canada Day Cup Volleyball Tournament and the CN Super Lucky Raffle Draw.

“The success of Canada Day in Shanghai shows how strong the relationship between Canada and China is,” says Carley Pulford, Executive Director of CanCham Shanghai. “Canadian businesses are actively engaged in China and we are also seeing more and more Chinese people going to Canada for studies or tourism.”
