The Advisory Council complements the knowledge and skills of the Board of Directors. It contributes to the effective governance of the Chamber and strengthens relationships with leaders in the Canadian business community in China.
Former Chair of CanCham Shanghai 2011-2012Of Counsel, King Wood Mallesons
Born in Vancouver, B.C. but raised in Vancouver and Hong Kong, Sharon Wong graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.Com and Dalhousie University with a LLB. She is admitted to practice law as a solicitor in British Columbia, Canada, and Hong Kong. She worked in the corporate securities group of the Canadian law firm Lang Michener LLP (now McMillan LLP) before moving to Shanghai to join the international law firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques (now King & Wood Mallesons). At KWM, she practices corporate commercial work including foreign direct investments and regulatory compliance with a focus on employment matters. She was formerly President of the Association of Women in Finance in Vancouver, B.C. Sharon was also former Chair of the Canadian Alumni Committee (2008 – 2012), former board member (2009 – 2012) and Chair of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai (2011 – 2012). Sharon currently sits on CanCham’s Advisory Council.
